Day 2: The Meaning Behind Your Name

Larissa Eboni Redmond, where does ther name come from, and does it have ANYTHING to do with the woman I have turned out to be? We shall see….

Larissa… Wel I did not have to search for the meaning of Larissa because it was something I have previously done.  Larissa is of Greece origin and means cheerful.  Although I do not believer my mother intentionally named me Larissa b/c it means cheerful, its ironic because she is ALWAYS cheerful.  It does not matter what time of the day, for the most part she is happy go lucky. Now myself on the other hand is a different story! LOL. Thats not to say I am never cheerful I just have a more serious side to myself, however if I am comfortable with you, you see my cheerful side more often.

Eboni… When searching my middle name I thought it was extremely funny its meaning.  Eboni comes from England origin and means the color black.  Now if you didn’t know me this probably wouldn’t seem as funny, but for those who do, they know why.  I am the most pro black female you will ever meet.  Now I don’t mean pro Black like Afro, dasheque (spelling), etc I just mean that I believe that the white man is ALWAYS trying to bring us down.  Why are you laughing….I am SO serious.  I don’t hate white people, but because of life experience I don’t like them either.

Redmond… Now I have mixed emotions about this one. Anyone who knows ME knows that I would prefer my mothers last name Mack anyday of the week, however Redmond is what I have, and after researching that might just be for a specific reason.  Redmond is usually associated with Irish or English origin.  In most cases it means protector or councel.  These two descriptions fit me extremely well.  I am a natural nuturer, and protecting and giving councel to my love ones is something that comes naturally.

I never really thought about researching my childrens names when I have them, but that might just be something I do now.
